Given the huge popularity of Happy Wednesday's past Oktoberfest extravaganzas, we're now putting the finishing touches on plans for this fall's three liveliest beer-soaked party nights! The Oktoberfest story
Oktoberfest began in Munich in October of 1810, when the townsfolk wanted an unforgettable way to celebrate Prince Ludwig I of Bavaria's marriage to Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen. In the couple's honour, people gathered from far and wide to eat, drink and be merry at a grand royal racing event. The shindig proved to be such a massive hit that Munich has been hosting ever-more elaborate Oktoberfest parties for over 200 years!
